Russel Metals service a wide variety of industries, including machinery and equipment manufacturing, construction, shipbuilding and natural resources, such as mining and petroleum.

Russel Metals energy products operations carry a specialized product line focused on the needs of its energy industry customers. These operations distribute oil country tubular goods (OCTG), line pipe, tubes, valves and fittings primarily to the energy industry in Western Canada and the United States. The company purchases these products either from the pipe division of North American steel mills or from independent manufacturers of pipe and pipe accessories.
